For more than 20 years, Gary Maksagak has served as facilities manager for Community and Government Services. The community service organization provides programs and funding which support core municipal operations, infrastructure development, and land development. Its main goal is to maintain assets in a safe level for public interest. Client departments rely on safe operation and maintenance from the Asset Management Division.
In his position, Mr. Maksagak communicates with clients and community government departments. He is responsible for overseeing five communities, including health care centers, schools, and wildlife offices, as well as supervision of nine employees. Mr. Maksagak serves on the board of directors for Northern Territories Water and Waste Association and, is an active member of Worldwide Branding. In the coming years, he plans to enter retirement and continue pursuing community services on a personal level.
Recently, Mr. Maksagak lost both of his parents to cancer. He is interested in collaborating with other professionals to work toward battling cancer. He is seeking to become involved with various cancer societies and charitable organizations which are actively pursuing cancer research. Mr. Maksagak also aspires to network with professionals who are passionate about creating awareness and finding aid for those currently suffering from cancer.
