Rochunga Pudaite has Helped in Translating the Bible into Five Different Languages

Rochunga PudaiteAt the helm of Bibles for the World, Inc., Rochunga Pudaite—an expert in bible education—trains preachers and teachers, and translates the bible. He has set the precedent in the field of bible education, paving the way for religious servicemen to reach out to neighbors abroad and spread the glory of God, via his 501(c)(3) organization.

From CBN Asia:

Chwanga Pudaite, the son of a headhunter, met a Welshman by the name of Watkin Roberts. The year was 1910, and the seven days that Roberts spent in the foothills of the Hmar territory in India changed Chwanga’s future. The quiet, soft-spoken Welshman told Pudaite of a living God who sent His Son into our world to bring life, and that week Chwanga Pudaite made a decision which cost him dearly.  When he decided to follow Jesus, he was driven from his home and family.  But when his son was born, he prayed that he might be the one to take the Bible back to the hills of Hmar from which he had come.

Chwanga’s son, Rochunga, was anything but a model boy, yet early in his teen years, Rochunga followed in the footsteps of his father and likewise became a Christian.  After he completed high school by sweeping floors and chopping wood for board and tuition, Rochunga appealed to Prime Minister Nehru for a scholarship.  His faith was rewarded.  The first scholarship ever given by the Indian government to a tribal student went to Rochunga.

During those years, he began thinking of his father’s dream‑‑a Bible in their native Hmar dialect.  When Rochunga was elected president of the newly formed political party by the Hmar leaders, he was on the verge of forgetting his dream for a political career.  During those days of decision, a cable arrived from Watkin Roberts‑‑the man who had first introduced his father to Christ. Instead of throwing his hat into the political arena, Rochunga came to America for graduate study. As he studied, Rochunga (Ro for short) also translated the New Testament into his native tongue, and it was published by the London Bible Society.

Gail Ruth Peterson helps women unite to accomplish their goals after their spouses' deathsGail Ruth Peterson, along with her new husband, Mike, is the Director and Co-Founder of The Widow’s Peek, Inc., a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization which offers resources and support for widows and widowers around the world. At the helm of the organization, Mrs. Peterson is responsible for writing curriculum to help widows and widowers realize there is still something for them to do after a spouse’s death. She is also currently in charge of writing a training program, and of coordinating and overseeing monthly events. She is also in the process of a newsletter with encouraging stories.

Mr. & Mrs. Peterson were inspired to become involved in the profession by the experiences that they encountered after they each became widowed in 2008. After participating in a grief program, Mrs. Peterson took a life coaching course and felt a need for a widows’ program. Mrs. Peterson is personally involved in grief ministry and is gifted in the area of writing and art. She has written a number of books: “Who am I without Him?”; “Kimmie Meets Jesus”; “Pete’s Move to Grandma and Grandpa”; “Jacob Wins a Soccer Game”; and “Cadin’s Heavenly Father.”

Since having served as an agent of positive change in the lives of many, Mrs. Peterson attributes her success to God, seeing the needs of others, and wanting her life to be useful. She is not afraid to try new things or make mistakes. In looking forward to a bright future, Mrs. Peterson wants to travel to various areas in Africa, and have more opportunity to share the facts of a widow’s life in the U.S. She believes that there is a healthy way to be healed and move on, and she wants to make her resources more known.
