David M. Landis Presents a Powerful Holiday Production with the Live Bethlehem Christmas Pageant

David Landis Live Bethlehem Christmas PageantLive Bethlehem Christmas Pageant is a nonprofit performing arts group which provides entertainment to the local community in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As its president, David M. Landis oversees daily business operations, and he also produces and directs live shows that serve to teach the community the origins of Christmas. Passionate about the organization, Mr. Landis also assists in fundraising efforts, promotes shows, and manages public relations. Hard working and dedicated to the organization’s cause, Mr. Landis has become recognized as a thought- and action-leader throughout his community.

From The Morning Call:

Spend an hour contemplating the reason for the season at the 35th annual edition of the Live Bethlehem Christmas Pageant Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the bandshell at Rose Garden Park, Eighth Avenue and Union Boulevard in Bethlehem.

The fully costumed re-enactment tells the story of Joseph and Mary and the birth of Christ. Joseph accompanies the Virgin Mary, who is riding a donkey to the stable where Christ is born and laid in a manger. The angels appear and summon the shepherds, who come with their offerings of sheep and various other animals. The Wise Men and camels, with an escort of Soldiers on horseback, arrive to receive the words of Herod and the High Priests. They proceed to the stable, where the Holy Family and the resident animals await under the watchful care of the angels.

There is a musical prelude at 1:45 p.m. each day and the pageant starts at 2. Admission is free, however, a goodwill offering is requested to support the community event, presented by David Landis of Bethlehem and his family.

Mr. Landis is professionally affiliated with Worldwide Branding- which named him an Outstanding VIP member in 2013. He is also an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and Minsi Trails Council. In 1990, he was honored with the Silver Beaver award by the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, he enjoys buying and selling goods for others.

Deanna Lennox and the War Horse Awareness Foundation Utilize Equine Therapy for PTSD Patients

Deanna LennoxDeanna Lennox established the nonprofit War Horse Awareness Foundation to help first responders understand and cope with occupational injuries, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and other operational stress injuries. She organizes symposiums, promotes PTSD awareness and develops equine programs for frontline service providers and their families. She previously served as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for more than 16 years until she suffered a career-ending injury that led to depression.  She has written a book about her experiences that was recently published by HarperCollins Publishing Canada. She attributes her success to her perseverance and passion for the industry. Ms. Lennox earned a diploma in criminal justice from Lethbridge College, and is a certified meditation teacher. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. In the coming years, Ms. Lennox intends to continue helping first responders.

Worldwide Branding Member Theresa Magro, VP of the Michael Magro Foundation, to Hold An Evening of Tasting and Giving Tonight

Theresa MagroTheresa Magro, Vice President of Michael Magro Foundation, will be hosting an annual “Evening of Tasting and Giving” at The Carltun in Long Island’s breathtaking Eisenhower Park. The event is set to begin at 6:30pm EST.

Some of Long Island’s best restaurants, bakeries and wineries will be available for tasting. At most recent count, 23 restaurants, five bakeries, and several wineries and breweries had signed on to feature their wares; there will also be a gelato station, as well as two martini bars.

Like any parent, when Ms. Magro’s 13 year old son was diagnosed with cancer, she felt helpless. It was 2005 and her son Michael, who was kind and had such a zest for life, was fighting for his life. Shortly after his diagnosis, Ms. Magro co-founded Michael Magro Foundation, to aid children suffering from cancer. A few short months later, Michael lost his battle with leukemia. In his memory, the foundation honors his life and continues to help other pediatric cancer patients.

The Michael Magro Foundation is a 501 ©3 non-profit organization, which was established in January 2005 to honor the life of Michael Magro, a 13 year old who was diagnosed with leukemia, and passed away within months of his diagnosis. Kelvin Glen Paves the Way to Growth in Educational Programs in Africa

Kelvin GlenAfter two decades of success in the nonprofit and corporate social investment industries, Kelvin Glen is uniquely qualified to lead The Tiger Brands as director. This foundation focuses on providing education and school feeding programs that feed 4,300 children in 62 schools. As director of the organization, Mr. Glen ensures that the strategy and budget are achieved. He also works with schools and the government. Mr. Glen’s hard work and ability to work at strategic and operational levels have led him to continued success at the company. He has seen how much work needs to be done in Africa, and is passionate about making a difference.

Mr. Glen is pursuing a Master of Business Administration, and earned a degree in social science in 1993. Prior to joining The Tiger Brands, he served a number of boards in both executive and non-executive roles. He also worked at companies including the Charities Aid Foundation Australia, the South African Red Cross and the Giving Organisation. In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Glen was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding. Looking forward, he aims to gain more experience at an executive level, increase his strategic expertise, publish more reports and train others.

Donna York: An Agent of Positive Change and ALS Awareness as President of HARK Inc.

Donna York Serves as an Agent of Positive Change as the President of HARK Inc.HARK Inc. was founded in 2012 with the focus on making educational and support services an abundant resource for families of people dealing with ALS. At the helm of the company is Donna York, who created the nonprofit after taking care of her father as he battled with ALS for a year and half. Chiefly amongst Ms. York’s many goals for the organization is that of her objective to educate others, raise awareness, and inspire others to hold on to their faith when facing ALS. Notably, Ms. York completed a documentary that was screened at NBC, which she hopes to use to raise more awareness for ALS.

In 2012, Ms. York was honored as the Somerset County Woman of the Year. She has also been the recipient of the Paul & Jean Krauss Award for Service to Youth. Most recently, Ms. York was honored by Worldwide Who’s Who for her contributions to those facing or caring for someone with ALS. Ms. York is pursuing certification in nonprofit management at Rutger’s University to further her knowledge of running a nonprofit. In the years to come, Ms. York intends to promote her film as much as possible, with the hope of gaining national recognition for her organization.

Marsha Goldford Demonstrates Human Resources Management Expertise while Helping Kids and Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Marsha GoldfordMarsha Goldford serves as the Director of Human Resources for the Developmental Disabilities Association. A certified human resources professional with 15 years of experience working with public sector and nonprofit organizations, Ms. Goldford has spent the past two years working with the nonprofit dedicated to providing community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. It is within this capacity, as well as her work as an independent consultant and community volunteer, that Ms. Goldford is able to employ her areas of expertise in human resources management and labor relations. As the director of human resources, Ms. Goldford provides advice and support for a range of human resources and labor relations activities including HR policy, recruitment, employee learning and development, organizational development, employee engagement, HR metrics, employee health, safety and wellness, benefits planning and records management.

In order to prepare for her career, Ms. Goldford earned a master’s degree in public administration from Queens University in 1978. She also received certification in human resources and training design and facilitation. In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. Goldford was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding. Additionally, she functions as a consultant for the BC Non-Profit Housing Association and its member agencies, as well as Shelter Net BC. She is an active volunteer mentor with Dress for Success Vancouver and a past-president and active board member for the Red Door Housing Society. In the coming years, Ms. Goldford plans to retire and expand her consulting work with nonprofit organizations locally and beyond both on a fee-for-service and pro bono basis.

Sarah A. Biggers has spent nearly a decade in her field, and she currently heads Experience Works, a community-based charity organization that provides training, employment and community services for the elderly with low incomes. Ms. Biggers specializes in strategic planning, and in implementing plans to leverage the various programs provided by the organization. She has also made a name for herself as an expert in performance management. She is responsible for coordinating with various departments, conducting advocacy and outreach, and speaking to legislative people to ensure funding. Ms. Biggers ensures that programs in place are meeting the needs of clients.

Experience Works is a national, charitable, community-based organization. It was originally named Green Thumb and chartered in 1965 as a small, rural demonstration program. At the helm of the foundation, Ms. Biggers has recognized and accomplished many of her goals, and she attributes her success to understanding that all people have a purpose in life. She has determination and passion for helping the less fortunate. She became involved in her profession because she was influenced by the mission of Experience Works and was recruited to join the organization in 2008. She is a member of the American Society on Aging, and the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs. In future years, Ms. Biggers wants to grow her company and help as many people as possible.

Samantha Hunter Pushes to Put Corruption to a Halt with Crime Stoppers Victoria

Samantha Hunter has more than two years of experience as the CEO of Crime Stoppers Victoria, an organization that serves to protect community members by passing on information to law enforcement officials to help them solve crimes. Over the years, Ms. Hunter has established herself as an expert in nonprofit management and leadership by serving at the helm of the organization and guiding community members toward safety and social justice. Each day, she manages the strategic direction of the association, as well as budgeting operations, and raises funds to keep the organization in operation. Ms. Hunter successfully built a marketing, public and community relations firm prior to taking on the role of CEO of Crime Stoppers Victoria and Director of Crime Stoppers Australia.

Samantha Hunter is passionate about helping the people of Victoria to build resilience and securing social justice for Looking back, Ms. Hunter attributes her success to hard work, perseverance and a passion for what she does. She worked in marketing for a long time and had served on the board of Crime Stoppers Australia. She was able to use her existing skill set to effectively market the goals of Crime Stoppers Victoria since she understood the business model from an insider’s perspective. Ms. Hunter is passionate about giving back to her community and helping citizens develop resilience.

Ms. Hunter received a Bachelor of Art in politics from La Trobe University, Australia. In looking forward to a bright future, she would like to serve another term in order to ensure that newly planned executive strategies are executed within the organization. She is grateful to be able to give the people of Victoria a chance to live fruitful lives without fear, and by serving Crime Stoppers Victoria, she can provide a safety net for the members of her community.

Thomas McGovern Champions Community and Church Initiatives with the Denise McGovern Memorial Conference Center

Thomas McGovernAfter the untimely passing of Thomas McGovern’s wife Denise, he was prompted to follow her advice, and “be generous.” Because that was one of the last things that she wished of him, Mr. McGovern made that his life’s goal. In honoring her final request, he founded a nonprofit organization—the Denise McGovern Memorial Conference Center—where the people of his community are welcome to holding conferences and events that support both the public and the church.

Mr. McGovern has since made the most of his background in the service sector and his financial expertise by serving as the organization’s Managing Director. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all accounting initiatives, calculating expenses, and decorating the center, in an effort to ensure that all who enter its doors can enjoy a comfortable and relaxed setting.  Additionally, Mr. McGovern is in charge of bringing food to these events and setting up, and hosting family reunions, Christmas parties, class reunions, tournaments, and parties for small churches, small businesses, and companies. He also raises funds for his local church.

His enduring generosity has garnered for him recognition from his peers and fellow community leaders, as well as induction into Worldwide Branding. He is a member of the Staten Island Catholic Youth Organization, the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, the First Baptist Church, the Council of Community Services, and the Life Foundation.

Dr. John F. Grayson Helms a Leading Nonprofit Organization which Helps People whose Rights have been Violated

John F. Grayson, Ph.D.Dr. John F. Grayson, President of Grayson Foundation, Inc, was recently honored by Worldwide Branding for his exceptional levels of leadership in the areas of nonprofit organizational management, and for his efforts in assisting the public in the securing of human rights.

On the day before Thanksgiving in 2012, Mr. Grayson was enjoying music and reading in his living room when his life was suddenly interrupted. Two deputies from the sheriff’s department knocked on his front door and informed him that someone had reported him as wanting to commit suicide, and therefore they had to escort him to the hospital. Without any choice in the matter, Mr. Grayson went on to suffer through a terrible ordeal that lasted days before he was released.

The Grayson Foundation strives to bring justice to anyone whose constitutional or civil rights have been infringed upon by any organization or individual.

After this jarring experience, Mr. Grayson decided to establish the Grayson Foundation, Inc. in order to help others that are dealing with similar difficult situations. The Grayson Foundation strives to bring justice to anyone whose constitutional or civil rights have been infringed upon by any organization or individual. Specializing in advocacy, Mr. Grayson possesses a unique zeal for his mission as a dedicated 85-year-old gentleman. He oversees the operations of the nonprofit, which include providing personal aid and comfort to affected individuals, educating the public regarding human rights, and assisting the initiation or change of legislation to improve and ensure the rights of individuals.
